The Home-based business in Australia is booming. As the Internet changes our lives and gives us powerful opportunities, we’re jumping off the “rat race” treadmill and into our own lifestyle home-based businesses.
Did you know that in Australia there are around 1,000,000 of us running a business from home?
Not only is this a high number relative to our population, the data shows that the home-based business is growing.
And hence, it really was a no-brainer for me to develop HomeOfficeVoice and turn it into an Australian thing.
So how can I explain HomeOfficeVoice and it’s basis for being? Well, here goes…
HomeOfficeVoice is a forward-thinking national alliance for people who work – or wish to work – from home. We believe that for too long there has been a gap – a missing void – in the home business sector having a national presence, having its voice heard and being part of a professional and dedicated alliance.
I urge you to read our About Us page for a better perspective.
And to add to all of this, I’ve watching a trend slowly emerge: the ‘lifestyle’ business.
Many people are becoming much more atune with what they want to get out of this life – remember, we only get one go at this. Many are directly going against the “rat race” mentality and asking themselves: there’s got to be more to it than this!
And the home-based lifestyle business is it.
I’m a real big fan of the ‘lifestyle business” ethos and I’ll have much to say on the matter.
As an example, Robert Gerrish’s FlyingSolo recently conducted a survey (1,300+) amongst his community and the results speaks for themselves: “Around 70% operate from a home base and do so as a lifestyle choice.” (my emphasis).
It also helps that we are in a great time now, what with the revolution of the Internet (the so-called Web 2.0) and online media – really we’re only at the beginning, yet we’ve gone so far.
Finally, as I welcome you to HomeOfficeVoice, you’ll notice I’ve slapped on a Beta sticker. The site is about 75% ready, just some odds and ends to fix up. I wouldn’t join up just yet (Did I really say that!!!) and putting the pieces of the puzzle together but you can sign up to our Free Newsletter (advertising and affilate free).
I hope you enjoy HomeOfficeVoice – remember it’s just for us Aussies – and I hope we can go places and become a real force in all facets of society.
Cheers,
Martin Neumann
