CamStudio

CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using its built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs)
A beauty of a program because it’s basic in what it does, is powerful and its free. And with video presentation being the big thing in 2007 this one is a big winner.
It’s great for making demonstration videos, video tutorial (my pick) and if you’re into information products (which I am) then why not produce a video product - the perception value that a video provides allows you to charge more (it’s a proven fact - take my word for it).
The website offering this app is pretty basic and probably needs updating but for a free app that does a really good job, who cares.
This one is a must in our ever increasing reliance on video for all things - thanks YouTube. :-)

The problem w/ CamStudio is that the videos aren’t viewable in Firefox (who’s at what - 25% market share? Enough to make it a substantial concern), and one can’t redirect at the end. There is a fix @ http://www.camstudioscreencapture.com
Of course, if you plan is just to upload to YouTube, the free version is fine.
