Here is a great and simple-to-use application that allows 2GB of data backups for free! It’s called IDrive-E and it performs a ‘complete hands-free automated backup’ for your files and folders.
IDrive-E performs hands-free remote backups with no complicated scheduling procedures, easy drag-and-drop restores using Windows Explorer like interface, fast and efficient backups by compressing data during transmission, provision to add files and folders directly from your Windows Explorer to your IDrive-E backup set, enhanced security with 128-bit SSL encryption on transfers and 256-bit AES encryption on storage with a user defined key. On installation, the application will select data in ‘My Documents’ for default backup and begins the backup when your computer is in an idle state. IDrive-E does incremental backups that transfer only portions of file that have been modified or changed since the last backup.
IDrive-E presents two interfaces for the users to work with. There is the IDrive-E Classic interface is a user-friendly interface that allows you to select files and folders for backups, immediately backup selected files and folders and schedule backups and so on. It has the common two-pane view where you can use it for regular backup/restore operations. You can also view the backup set you have created, search for files and delete files that don’t need to be backed up.
The IDrive-E Explorer view is a virtual drive with a traditional Windows Explorer look and feel. Use this to restore files and folders and not for backups. You can browse your IDrive-E account contents, restore files and folders with a simple drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste operation, view history of files, drag-and-drop or copy files to local drive (restore file versions) and search for files and folders backed up in your IDrive-E account.
