The Gnumeric spreadsheet is part of the GNOME desktop environment: a project to create a free, user friendly desktop environment. The goal of Gnumeric is to be the best possible spreadsheet. We are not attempting to clone existing applications. However, Gnumeric can read files saved with other spreadsheets and we offer a customizable feel that attempts to minimize the costs of transition.
This open source offering is a strong contender in the spreadsheets offerings going around today. With a strong community behind it they have developed a surprisingly robust application that simply does the job. /strong>

FreeMind is a premier free mind-mapping software written in Java. The recent development has hopefully turned it into high productivity tool … Do you want to prioritize, know where you are, where you’ve been and where you are heading,
as Stephen Covey would advise you? Have you tried FreeMind to keep track of all the things that are needed for that?
I am a big believer in mind mapping techniques and FreeMind does a good job of bringing out ideas, sorting them and expanding upon them. If you’re into brainstorming then this is a must-have tool.

FileZilla is a powerful FTP-client for Windows NT4, 2000 and XP. It has been designed for ease of use and with support for as many features as possible, while still being fast and reliable … with an intuitive interface.
FileZilla is my own personal FTP client of choice. Firstly it’s free but more importantly it does a wonderful job of uploading and downloading my files. I also found it to start up and run faster than other similar applications.
